Faythe Levine

The talk was really interesting and very unconventional. i really appreciate that her success is shared amongst people she thinks deserve it. i personally just tried to do this with an opportunity that i found and i shared it with my friends who i know would benefit but that was actually really hard to do because i want to be selfish and keep the opportunity for myself, but it isn't all about me, and they will remember that and will continue to pass down that idea of helping each other as they were helped. she works at the kholer, which is actually a pretty interesting exhibition because its this toilet company that is also making art in its backroom and displaying it. the owner is actually really into art which is wild. for me craft is always considered the lesser art, "the word craft is always approachable" "you don't need a background" (faythe levine herself) and for her to take that and see value in it and elevate it for these artist to have a platform is pretty remarkable. her background is self made which might be why she is drawn to craft for its DIY attitude. she gave very helpful advice to the class when she came in, i really appreciate her time!
